Principle:
A video optical transceiver is a device that converts one or more analog video signals into optical signals through optical fibers through various codes.
Since the video signal is converted into an optical signal through analog conversion and digital conversion, the video optical transceiver is divided into an analog optical transceiver and a digital optical transceiver. The principle of the optical transceiver is to modulate the signal onto the light and transmit the video through the optical fiber.
Modulation
The principle of the optical transceiver is to modulate the signal onto the optical and transmit the data through the optical fiber. The following modulation methods are used:
1. Amplitude Modulation or Emphasizing System (AM): In a full analog system, the brightness or intensity of a light-emitting diode (LED) in an optical transmitting unit varies linearly with the amplitude of the input video. The amplitude modulated optical signal is transmitted through the optical fiber to the optical receiving unit, which converts the signal into analog baseband video.
2. Frequency modulation or pulse frequency modulation (FM): It is also an analog system. The RF carrier linearly adjusts the frequency through the input video signal. The modulated carrier is used for the LED or laser transmitter of the light emitting unit. The frequency modulated signal passes. The optical fiber is sent to the optical receiving unit, and the analog optical transceiver converts the signal into digital baseband video.
