Distance of Telephone Transmission

Our company which is more than 20 years of experience in communication technology, always meet such problem from our clients,how long can the phone extend after installing the telephone optical transceiver?

This problem can be divided into two parts:

1.the transmission distance of two telephone optical transceivers;

2.the optical cable distance from the telephone to the telephone optical transceiver.

The transmission distance of the optical transceiver depends on the optical module. At present, the transmission distance of optical modules is 10km, 20km, 40km, 60km, 80km, 100km, 120km, but this does not mean the actual transmitting distance of device,also needs to be considered fiber attenuation. If the attenuation is within the range specified by the optical module, the optical signal is perfect to transmit.

The distance between the telephone and optical cable depends on the performance of the telephone optical transceivers, there are various optical transceiver manufacturers in China and the performance of optical transceiver produced by each manufacturer is also different. After comparing that, the length of the copper cable between the telephone and the optical transceiver is less than 4km, the telephone can maintain normal operation and the quality of the calling, the vibration sound of the ringing tone, and the stability of the caller ID are not affected.

Although it can ignore the attenuation of the signal, it is not recommended that the optical cable is pulled too long. The copper cable attenuation is much larger than the optical cable, and it is not convenient to maintain in the future as well as affects the quality of the calling.
